Saggart Village Residents’ Association was founded to bring the community in the locality into closer co-operation and to hold events which benefit both young and old in Saggart.
Our work encompasses a wide range of activities from guided walks of the area, to clean ups, festivals, historical talks and craft workshops.
SVRA have also campaigned on pressing issues in the community which are pertinent to the development of Saggart. For example, we ran a successful campaign to see that the sale of old Saggart National School was in the public interest, rather have it sold to private developers.
This we achieved, and South Dublin County Council purchased the site. In the future it is hoped the building will be developed into a fully fledged community centre.
